Medicare Supplement Plans
Medicare Supplement plans, or Medigap, are a great way to save some money while still having access to the same coverage. Medigap is available for those that are enrolled in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B).
The purpose of Medigap is to reduce the amount you owe when it comes to certain Original Medicare costs.
Medicare Supplement Plans
There are ten different Medigap policies available in Louisiana. Which one you choose will depend on the type of coverage you will need. Below is an outline of each Medigap plan and what is covered.
**Plans C and F are not available to those who were eligible for Medicare after January 1, 2020.

The cost of your Medigap plan will depend on several factors, such as your location, the plan you choose, the insurance company, and more. Let’s take a look at some of the costs you can expect to see for each Medigap plan:
When Can I Enroll?
The best time to enroll in a Medigap plan is during the Medigap Open Enrollment Period. This is a six-month enrollment period that gives you the opportunity to enroll in a Medigap plan of your choice without being denied coverage or charged more because of your health.
This period starts as soon as you are 65 and enrolled in Part A and Part B.
